Norland Recreation Centre
The existing Norland Recreation Centre served as an indoor natural ice rink in the winter and a community hall the remainder of the year. This uninsulated building was very cold in spring and fall and very hot in summer. To create a facility that can be used comfortably in all seasons significant insulation was added the roof and walls. New wall and roof finishes protect this insulation and modernize the look of the building. New mechanical systems provide heating in winter and air conditioning in summer.
A planned second phase of work involves interior renovations to improve barrier free accessibility, a new commercial kitchen, and improvements to the existing multi-use community hall.
