| The Ostic Insurance Building project is a unique expansion, renovation and utiliztion of several, seeminglly disparate building structures. Focused on a one and one half storey stone cottage, the total project incorporated the family-owned business plus additional leaseable space. New spaces and linkages finished with board and batten wood siding and gable roofs compliment and extend the historical stone vernacular. Overall site planning brought together well articulated staff parking and entry facilities. Parking areas are screened from the street by the building form which serves to extend and complete the streetscape. A visually interesting transition between the adjacent commercial core of Fergus and residential neighbourhood is therefore created. |
