The 54 Plus Seniors Centre Grand Opening

Architect Carolyn Bilson from James Fryett Architect Inc. was pleased to attend the grand opening of the 54 Plus Seniors Centre in Alliston.  This well attended event included musical entertainment, refreshments, a ribbon cutting ceremony, and a cake cutting.

Built by the Town of New Tecumseth as an addition to the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre, this 4000 square foot community centre was designed with direct input from the user group.  The addition consists of a lounge, a multi-use room complete with a moveable partition to divide the space in two, a kitchenette, washrooms, storage, and mechanical spaces.

Thank You Centre Wellington Food Bank

At the Annual General Meeting of the Centre Wellington Food Bank, James Fryett Architect Inc. was honored for donation of architectural services for the expansion and renovation of the Food Bank.  These services included consultation, design and building permit documents, and assistance with volunteers.

Notice of Award: Emmanuel Christian High School

Emmanuel Christian High School is one step closer moving into the old Fergus High School.  With the assistance of James Fryett Architect Inc. they have chosen Sheldon Creek Developments to operate as their construction manager.

Renovations to this heritage property will revitalize 10 classrooms, a student commons, and administrative offices.  An elevator will provide barrier free access to all floors and a 10,850 s.f. addition to the building will house a multipurpose gymnasium complete with stage, change rooms, washrooms, and a servery for banquets.

Construction is expected to start in July.

New Project: Shimco

James Fryett Architect Inc. has been chosen by Maple Reinders to design a new home for Shimco. This state of the art manufacturing facility will be located in the Boxwood Business Park on Heroux-Devtek Drive in Cambridge, Ontario.

Construction is expected to start in late summer.

New Project: Lancaster Stacked Towns

James Fryett Architect Inc. has been commissioned by Aberdeen Homes to design a neighbourhood of stacked townhouses for 371 Lancaster Street West in Kitchener.  Two buildings will contain 28 one and two bedroom units.

Construction is expected to start in late summer.

127 Chancellors Way Groundbreaking Ceremony

Architects Jim Fryett and Tiffany Tosheff braved an extremely cold and windy day to join The Lammer Group at the groundbreaking  ceremony at 127 Chancellors Way in Guelph.

Designed by James Fryett Architect Inc. this new 25,000 square foot office building is located in the University of Guelph Research Park.  Two storeys of office space sit atop a parking garage.  The exterior of the building is both visually striking and designed for enhanced energy efficiently that is significantly in excess of building code requirements.

The building will be home to NSF International and the Guelph Food Technology Centre.

James Fryett Architect Inc. has awarded the tender for the addition to the Connect Tech Inc. facility at 42 Arrow Rd. in Guelph to…… Grand River Contracting Ltd.!!

Tentative construction start date is set for the end of January.

We are looking forward to a successful construction process and anticipate handing the keys to the  facility owners by the end of May.

Happy Holidays

This evening the fine people of James Fryett Architect Inc. and their guests gathered for an end of year holiday celebration.  The event was held at our neighbourhood Scottish/Italian restaurant, Scozia.  Appetizers and drinks were followed by a three course meal that culminated with a decedent chocolate fudge cake.

In further celebration of the holiday season our office will close at 5:00 pm on December 24th and re-open on January 5th.  Happy Holidays!
